The National Science Foundation governs PAEMST on behalf of The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. It is the United States government’s highest honors given to K-12 mathematics and science teachers. Awardees are esteemed as peer role models for other teachers and academic leaders within their schools and communities.
“It is an incredible accomplishment for a school to have one nominee for this prestigious award. The fact that MCAA has two--one for math and one for science--in the same year shows that we truly have commendable teachers,” said Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck. “I am very proud of Ms. Johnson and Ms. Throop. They continue to represent our school district both in and outside of the classroom as teachers who are innovative and dedicated to the progress of students.”
