Get ready for some fun, and come to the Chattahoochee River Summer Splash in
Sandy Springs.
On Saturday, July 25, Powers Island is hosting the event
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with food and live music.
It is completely free, although it might behoove you to rent a boat. Feel
free to bring your own canoe, kayak or raft, but you can rent one if need be.
The six-mile river float begins at Morgan Falls Dam and ends at Powers
Island. Families are welcome!

FROM I-285 EAST
Take exit 22, Northside Drive / New Northside Drive / Powers
Ferry Road.
Go to the second traffic light and turn left onto New
Northside Drive.
Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
Destination will be .6 miles on the right before the river.
FROM I-285 WEST
Take exit 22, Northside Drive / New Northside Drive / Powers
Ferry Road.
Turn Right onto New Northside Drive.
Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
Destination will be .6 miles on the right before the river.
FROM U.S. 41 SOUTH (COBB PARKWAY)
Travel to Akers Mill Road. Turn Left and travel
approximately
1.5 miles to the junction of Akers Mill and Powers Ferry
Road.
Turn Left, going under I-285 then make an immediate right
onto Interstate
North Parkway. Destination will be .4 miles on the left
after crossing the river.
FROM U.S. 41 NORTH (COBB PARKWAY)
Travel to Akers Mill Road. Turn Right and travel
approximately
1.5 miles to the junction of Akers Mill and Powers Ferry
Road.
Turn Left, going under I-285 then make an immediate
right onto Interstate North Parkway.
Destination will be .4 miles on the
Parking
Park your vehicle at MEAG Power, 1470 Riveredge Parkway
located near Powers Island and ride the free shuttle to Morgan Falls Dam to
begin your river journey. The first shuttle will leave MEAG Power at 9 a.m.
Plan on your river journey taking approximately three hours, depending on the
rivers current and time spent paddling. The last shuttle to MEAG Power will
leave Powers Island at 4 p.m.
