Atlanta Student is a Finalist in Match.com Contest

Noah, a local student from Atlanta, has been named one of the five finalists in the first-ever MatchMade Scholarship Contest, offering a $50,000 prize offered to kids of parents who met on Match. In May, students between the ages of 13-20 were asked to submit a short video retelling their parents’ love story in a creative way: from their first messages exchanged on Match to the moment they knew they were MatchMade for each other.

Noah’s video, along with the other four finalists, can now be seen at www.MatchMade.com, where fans can then vote for their favorite college-bound “Match Baby” by sharing the video to Facebook or Twitter from the site.  The finalist with the highest number of shares by September 1 will be awarded the scholarship prize.

The top five MatchMade finalists are:

·         Noah (Atlanta, GA) – At 4 years old, Noah thought life at home with his mom and his dog was pretty good….but knew something was missing.  He thought it was a fire truck, but his mom had another idea.

·         Austin (Dallas, TX) – Austin grew up without the father figure he desperately craved. As a young child, he even asked his mom to go find one for him at the “daddy store.” She went online instead.

·         Dacia (Minneapolis, MN) – After first meeting online, Dacia’s mom and her future husband would spend hours talking on the phone like teenagers. Soon after he and his daughter came to visit, and never left.

·         Olivia (Boston, MA)  Three days before Olivia’s mother’s subscription on Match was set to run out, her future wife noticed her profile. Not long after, Olivia was singing a handcrafted song at her moms’ wedding.

·         Rachael (Abilene, KS)  – just a few short weeks after Rachael’s mom Roberta had a first date with Charlie, a serviceman she met on Match, he was deployed to Afghanistan. But distance couldn’t keep them apart.

After an overwhelming response, Match has selected the top finalists based on creativity, compelling story-telling, and their ability to articulate the role that Match has played in their lives. Launched over 19 years ago, Match has consistently led to more dates, more relationships, and more marriages than any other site.  And now, with over one million babies “made” on Match, Match will continue to positively impact the lives of its members by offering a scholarship to the children of its success couples.  Check out the videos at www.MatchMade.com, and help one lucky student win by sharing your favorite video through the share tools on the site.
