Full Moon Kayak Tours-

at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA. Receive a guided tour of Lake Rutledge and learn about the history of one of the state’s most treasured parks. During the months of July, August, and September, keep your eye out for a Super Moon while observing the night sky. $15 plus $5 parking.
Moonlight Mountain Hike-
Saturday, Aug. 9, 7:30 p.m.
at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge, GA. Whether you’re taking a break from the desk or working to get in shape, hiking with a group to the mountaintop as the moon begins to rise is the perfect way to fulfill your needs. Wake up Sunday morning feeling refreshed and accomplished! If you choose to participate, please pay in advance and meet at the nature center fifteen minutes prior to the start of the program. Bring flashlights, water, and hiking boots. $7 plus $5 parking.
Summer's For The Birds
- Saturday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
at the Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site in Cartersville, GA. Know your bird trivia? If so, test your knowledge by identifying the birds that are observed or heard on this walk. Paddle Under the Perseids: Meteor Kayak Tour- Monday, Aug. 18, 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.
at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA. A meteor shower is one of the most exciting natural phenomena to witness. See what is predicted to be the year’s best shower while on a ranger-led kayak tour of Lake Rutledge. Groups will meet at the Lake Rutledge boat ramp. $20 plus $5 parking.
New Moon Kayak Tour-
Saturday, Aug. 23, 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA
. During this relaxing kayak tour of Lake Rutledge, enjoy the calming sounds of nature as you paddle through the lake. Due to the new moon, expect many stars to be visible to the human eye. $15 plus $5 parking.
Atlanta Audubon Society Bird Walk-
Saturday, Aug. 30, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge, GA. It’s time to take out those binoculars and hike through the park’s Power of Flight area. During the tour, which attracts participants of all ages, instructors will pass along helpful information about how to improve your bird-identifying techniques. $5 parking.
