Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake, the first and only free-standing memory community in Woodstock, has officially opened its doors. The community is unique in providing specialized care to residents living with Alzheimer's, dementia and memory impairment, and is the second of such facilities to be built in the Atlanta area by The LaSalle Group.
"We are proud to be a part of the community, and we look forward to providing quality care to our residents and valuable services to families in the are," says Joseph Jasmon, chief operating officer of The LaSalle Group. "By offering free programs including seminars, speakers and support groups to the public, we hope to be a resource for families living with Alzheimer's and dementia."
Autums Leave of Towne Lake was designed based on the latest Alzheimer's research and includes high-tech equipment to help keep the residents safe. Everything about the community—from the area's layout to all interior furnishings and decor—were chosen with the intention of providing the best environment for residents living with Alzheimer's and demenita.
The community also features the state-of-the-art Vigil System, a motion sensor program in each resident's private room that allows for safer independent living. The system subtly alerts staff members, if needed, and gathers information that serves to improve the resident's comfort level.
"Our programs are individualized, and our staff works to meet the unique needs of each resident," says Susan Tidwell, executive director of Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake. "I am thrilled to be a part of the first free-standing memory care community in Woodstock."
The staff of Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake underwent rigorous training that included the Alzheimer's Association's CARES program. That training helps them understand behavioral, communicative and cognitive changes the residents will experience as Alzheimer's progresses.
Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake is located in Woodstock at 1962 Eagle Drive, between Interstate 575 and Interstate 75.
