National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day

Did you know that this Friday is National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day—a day to celebrate small business owners? We want to celebrate them every day! We're talking better customer service, an honest opinion on products, true character and knowledgeable staff.

Take for example Atlanta’s very own Gwynnis and Phillip Mosby. Three years ago, the Mosbys started Gwynnis Mosby Make-Up Academy, a small mom and pop business located in Atlanta, Georgia, that uses cloud-based and mobile services to manage their business. After 30 years in the celebrity make-up industry, Gwynnis Mosby decided to leave her full-time job travelling the world and start a small business with her husband.

There are hundreds of mom and pop shops all around the Peach City, and we want to hear the ones you frequent! Don't forget to show them some love this Friday, March 29, to let them know what they bring to your community, and how glad you are that they exist and are going strong.

Here are a few other mom and pop shops that flourish in ATL. Leave your favorites in the comments!

Arden's Garden—more than just juice, but still amazing juice you can buy all over the city.

Binders Art Supplies and Frames—now also in Charlotte, but born and raised in Atlanta.

Bound To Be Read Books—A personal favorite in East Atlanta Village, BTBR will sell you Advanced Reader Copies of books about to be published and all the proceeds will go to the local library. Can't beat it.

Park Pet Supply—combining the best quality products for your pets with excellent customer service, PPS will take care of you and yours.

Sevananda—This natural food co-op in Little Five Points is a perfect go-to for local, organic produce, fresh food (sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts), locally made goods and juices and, of course, their bulk food and apothecary sections.
The Swallow at the Hollow will show you a good time, every time. Up in Roswell, Ga., this spot is a local favorites for barbecue and live music.
