Callanwolde’s Jazz on the Lawn continues Friday, July 10
with Atlanta’s finest jazz treasures showcasing a mix of classic and
contemporary jazz, swing, fusion, smooth and blues in settings for summer
outdoor concerts.
On July 24, Teresa Hightower will be featured. She is a
veteran of concert halls, recordings, cabaret and musical theater who served
for four years as executive secretary on the Board of Governors of the National
Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Grammy Awards. Aug. 7 welcomes Gwen
Hughes, an Officer with The Recording Academy; a Grammy Foundation Ambassador
(preserving the American music heritage); Johnny Mercer “Artist in Residence”
with the former GA Music Hall of Fame; Board Member with Georgia Music
Partners; and a producer of “One City, Many Voices,” which raises money
annually for Atlanta Community Ministries.
All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available
for advance purchase online for $20. They’re $25 at the door.

Parking is free and on-site, and all concerts are held in
the amphitheater, rain or shine. Bring your own picnic and/or drinks! Drink and
