The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia
Council for the Arts (GCA) recently announced the recipients of their Partner
and Project grant funding for the fiscal year of 2016. More than 80
organizations in the state were awarded over $795,000 in funding for
support of operations. In addition, eight organizations received support for
extraordinary arts education programs.
Peer Review Panels are used by Georgia Council for the Arts
following National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) precedent for judging
applications. The panelists that decide are experienced GCA Council members and
fellow professionals. They are familiar with the arts discipline or the type of
grant that is being reviewed or are citizens with a history of arts activities,
experience and knowledge. The recipients of the grant include theaters, dance
companies, museums, cities, colleges and multi-discipline arts entities.
