The Topeka Capitals are relocating to Atlanta!
Currently known as the Topeka Capitals, the team will be
spending their 2015-2016 season in Atlanta. After the owner was encouraged to
make a decision to meet the league's deadline, a new lease was set up and they
will now be playing in Sandy Springs, Georgia, at the Center Ice Arena. The new
location is hoped to be very appealing to many of the junior hockey players
located in the city.
The team will still be led by Anthony Bohn as the head coach
and Ryan Terrana and Vinny Bohn as assistant coaches because of their notable
63 wins during their two seasons in Topeka. They were even South Division
Champs in their first season and had an impressive run in the playoffs this
past season.
This 2015-2016 will be the team’s first season in Sandy
Springs, and Bohn is really enthusiastic because of the opportunities now at
their disposal in Atlanta. This new season will have 48 games, 22 of them being
home and played at the Center Ice Arena. In addition to the new move, the
Capitals will be participating in the annual NA3HL draft with nine picks in the
eighth round. They already have their eyes on the players that would be a good
fit for the team.
Season tickets for the Capitals go on sale Tuesday, June 16th,
and the annual draft will be held by the staff at Center Ice Arena at 6:00 p.m.
Attend and get the chance to meet Don Stone, the owner of the team, and the
rest of the staff.
