Annual Taste of the Nation® Raises Money for No Kid Hungry


The 27th anniversary celebration of Atlanta’s Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry was a complete success! Raising $740,000, they progressed further into their goal to end child hunger in Atlanta and across America. On May 7, over 1,200 guests came together for the gala at Georgia Aquarium. It featured treats like gourmet samplings from celebrated chefs, wine tastings and live entertainment.

The proceeds from Atlanta’s Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry will go towards funding Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry efforts, a campaign focused on ending childhood hunger by making sure that they begin the day with a nutritious breakfast so families can keep up the habit. In addition to Georgia, the funds will go to Atlanta-based beneficiaries including Atlanta Community Food Bank, Georgia Citizen’s Coalition on Hunger, Cooking Matters Georgia, Captain Planet Foundation, Our House, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute and The Georgia Food Bank Association who administers the “Feeding for a Promising Future  - No Kid Hungry” campaign in Georgia.

Because of the efforts from the campaign and the Taste of the Nation events, they have been able to bring more than 345 million additional meals to kids in need. Founder of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, Pano Karatassos has chaired the event since 1988. He also started Atlanta’s Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry.
