Soleil Laurel Canyon Proposes Expansion: Master Plan and Amenity Additions

Active Lifestyle Communities, the developer of Soleil Laurel Canyon, in anticipation of obtaining approval from the City of Canton on the master plan modification recently presented, is pleased to announce a planned million-dollar-plus amenity addition to the award-winning community. The additions include expansion of the Soleil Clubhouse, gardens, greenhouse and parking, as well as covered access from the new parking to the expanded club.  The recommended addition enlarges the current club between 7,500 and 8,500 square feet across two stories of light-filled space.  Social and wellness initiatives will take place in the state-of-the-art addition, facilitating the highly regarded community’s reputation as an active neighborhood where residents become life-long friends.  Upon completion, the master plan will have approximately 952 homes, up from the original site, where the maximum homesites were 765.

The new amenity plan, presented to the homeowners in late February, is to construct an addition to the club on the current location of the gardens and greenhouse, alongside the outdoor pool. This architecturally rich two-story building would house a gourmet, top-shelf catering kitchen and dining area on the main floor. The second floor would have additional rooms to hold small meetings and events, as well as open up as one large room through the use of operable partitions. The design features natural light, views of the pool area, and long-range views of the lake vistas beyond. Through this expansion, the beloved gardens and greenhouse will be relocated within the clubhouse grounds, which are currently being assessed by a survey team, working in collaboration with the resident Soleil Garden Club leaders.

Following four months of qualitative study in collaboration with Soleil Laurel Canyon’s homeowners association, the resident members of the Soleil Advisory Board and several presidents of the more than 50 clubs active within the Soleil community, the four main objectives of the improvements that emerged from the studies were:
1.      the new building mentioned above,
2.      relocating and expanding the garden area and greenhouse,
3.      additional parking and an access point from this parking area,
4.      a covered access from the new parking to the existing amenity building.

Final details of the plan are still under advisement by the architectural, kitchen consultants and construction experts, but will be made available upon completion, and may include adding a fifth amenity, an outdoor grilling area with seating just outside the two-story addition.

Interested buyers are encouraged to visit the active adult community and experience all Soleil has to offer. Soleil will plan special events to introduce these new homes in spring of 2015. To learn more, visit: soleillaurelcanyon.com.
