American Jack Sock defeated Michael Venus (NZL) in two sets, 6-4, 6-2, this afternoon at the BB&T Atlanta Open.

Sock will move on to play the winner of the Lukas Lacko (SVK)/Denis Istomin (UZB) match, happening this evening in Court 3.
Sock, along with his partner Canadian Vasek Pospisil, recently won the 2014 Wimbledon doubles. This is his fifth ATP Quarterfinal of the Year. He also recently reached the semifinals in Newport, CT. This win marks his second quarterfinal here in Atlanta.
