Cobb Department of Transportation staff seeks public input on proposed safety and operational improvements along the Sandy Plains Road corridor and will hold an open house on June 18, which will provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project, ask questions and to express their interest and concerns about the project. The project consists of median, access management, traffic signal upgrade and fill in the gap sidewalk items. The project limit is Kinjac Drive to Ebenezer Road.
These improvements are a component of the 2011 one percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program.

ART-Barks and Purrs

Cobb Animal Control will host ART-Barks and Purrs, a festival to encourage adoption and introduce the community to the center. More than 30 local arts and crafts vendors with animal-related art will attend, and the event will include great raffle prizes, special adoption rates and food.
2014 Candlelite Concert Series
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Concert begins at 8 p.m.

Webb Wilder will perform on June 21 as a part of the Candlelite Concert Series. Wilder describes the music he and his band, the Beatnecks, make as "rock for roots fans and roots for rock fans." Combining R&B, rock and roll, country, blues, pop and rock, audiences will enjoy an energetic performance. General admission and parking is free. Tables, that seat six, are available for $55.
