Cooking with Colors at the Children's Museum of Atlanta

The Children's Museum of Atlanta brought back its popular Cooking with Colors series this spring. Hosted by chef Andrea Strauss, the weekly workshops teach parents and children how to make colorful and healthy foods together at home.

The event is part of the museum's Eat a Georgia Rainbow program, which is a seasonal series of Sunday programs to compliment their ongoing Fundamentally Food exhibition. The programs teach children and parents about the locally-grown crops that can be harvested each season and how they can use these crops in their homemade meals.

In the Cooking with Colors class, Strauss utilizes fresh fruits and vegetables to create healthy dishes even picky eaters will enjoy. Previous classes have taught children to make sweet potato pancakes with apple cinnamon syrup, veggie quesadillas and homemade spinach pasta with tomato sauce.

You can check out CBS 46's segment on the spinach pasta class for a better look into what the Cooking with Colors classes are all about.

The Children's Museum of Atlanta has three more classes for little chefs to enjoy:

The workshops are free with the purchase of a ticket or membership to the Children's Museum of Atlanta, with space for 10 adults with one child per adult. For more information, please visit childrensmuseumatlanta.org.
