ATL: The Best City for New Graduates

This month, Atlanta has once again ranked No. 1 in the top 10 cities for new graduates, this time on MarketWatch. The National Center for Education Statistics projects that more than 1.6 million students will graduate with bachelor's degrees in the Class of 2014, and each one has their eyes turned to the job market and is faced with where the next step will take them. Homes.com and forrentuniversity.com teamed up to find the best cities for recent graduates, based on mean entry-level income, average prices of one-bedroom apartments, social possibilities and proximity to postgraduate institutions. 
      With a mean entry-level income of $43,000 and a one-bedroom only setting you back $800 a month on average, average salary for recent grads is 21 percent higher in Atlanta than the national average. The city also holds the third largest collection of Fortune 500 companies and is a major hub for global headquarters of major corporations.
