On Monday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m., families can join cast and crew members from the Broadway national touring company of Disney's "The Lion King" for a night of singing and dancing at "The Lion Sings Tonight" at the Woodruff Arts Center's Rich Theatre.
The fifth Atlanta Broadway benefit cabaret from theBestArts.com will feature over 25 singers, dancers and musicians from the company performing top 60s hits from Aretha Franklin, the Supremes, the Temptations, the Rolling Stones and more.
In addition to the musical performances, the night will include a mid-show auction for the chance to join the cast and crew backstage at Disney's "The Lion King" at the Fox Theatre, as well as a trip to New York City in June to attend a Broadway show and Broadway Bares. There will also be a silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., featuring items donated by Disney's "The Lion King."
The whole family can enjoy a night of music and fun while supporting two great charities, as 100 percent of the proceeds from the benefit will go to Joining Hearts and Broadway Cares. Joining Hearts is dedicated to providing housing support to people living with HIV and AIDS in the Atlanta area, and Broadway Cares is the nation's leading industry-based, non-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.
Advance tickets to the event cost $40 per person for general admission and $80 for VIP (including a pre-show reception hosted by the show's lead performers at 6:15 p.m.). Tickets purchased at the event will be $50 (general admission) and $90 (VIP). Advance tickets can be purchased online.
