Four Georgia companies made the 2014 “FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For” list, with Marietta-based WellStar Health System ranking higher than any Peach State company on the list. More than 13,000 people are employed in the system, which puts people first, be it employees or patients.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta ranked 43rd, the ninth consecutive time the not-for-
profit pediatric healthcare system has been named to the list. Children’s is one of only two healthcare systems in Georgia to appear on the list. In addition, Children's is one of only two pediatric hospitals on the list. When broken down by size, Children’s placed 16th in the midsized company sub-category, and earned special recognition for being a top company in wages for nurses and nurse managers. Children's also received recognition for being a top employer for minorities and women.

- No. 39 WellStar Health System -- “Onsite conveniences include vehicle maintenance, free income tax preparation, and a retail pharmacy that delivers for free.”
- No. 40 Alston & Bird LLP -- “A social committee at this law firm plans monthly events, a Friday Bar, and get-togethers where employees win prizes.”
- No. 43 Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta -- “Registered nurses average $77,000 a year, while salaried nurse managers take home an average of $111,000 in pay and bonuses.”
- No. 58 Aflac Inc. (NYSE: AFL) -- “Aflac offers grants toward closing costs for employees who are first-time homebuyers below a certain income level and participate in financial counseling.”
