"Girl with a Pearl Earring" stops in Atlanta

One of the most famous works in art history is making its home in Atlanta for the summer. “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer is displaying at the High Museum of Art from June 23 —Sept. 29.
 
Even if you know nothing about art history, you’ve likely seen the classic masterpiece on T-shirts and tote bags. It also inspired a best-selling novel and Oscar-winning film, along with countless artists over the years.
