Soaring to New Heights

The Atlanta City Council unanimously approved a request to build a Ferris wheel that will rise above the city.

Atlanta’s newest tourist attraction will be called SkyView Atlanta and is slated to be built near Centennial Olympic Park.

The Ferris wheel could be ready for rides as early as this summer. Developers previously stated the ride would cost $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for kids, but ticket prices could be adjusted.

SkyView would go around four times and last roughly 15 minutes. The glass-enclosed attraction will ascend 200 feet in the air and seat up to six people. According to developers, the ride will be offered year-round.

Atlanta’s attraction would be similar to the London Eye, pictured above. For more information, read My Fox Atlanta’s article here.
