The
Atlanta City Council unanimously approved a request to build a Ferris wheel
that will rise above the city.
Atlanta’s
newest tourist attraction will be called SkyView Atlanta and is slated to be
built near Centennial Olympic Park.
The
Ferris wheel could be ready for rides as early as this summer. Developers previously
stated the ride would cost $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for kids, but ticket prices
could be adjusted.
SkyView
would go around four times and last roughly 15 minutes. The glass-enclosed attraction
will ascend 200 feet in the air and seat up to six people. According to
developers, the ride will be offered year-round.
Atlanta’s
attraction would be similar to the London Eye, pictured above. For more
