Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods has launched the Signature Collection, a new division within the company that will deliver semi-custom homes in luxury neighborhoods throughout metro Atlanta. Homes in the Signature Collection will priced be from the $500,000s to the $800,000s.
“We are starting this division within Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods to fill the void left by the unfortunate demise of the typical Atlantacustom homebuilder. The Great Recession and limited availability of construction financing has opened up a market opportunity for us,” said Gregg Goldenberg, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods’ president and chief executive officer. “The Signature Collection brings the combination of the financial strength and stability of an established homebuilding company with the personal attention and expertise of a custom homebuilder.”
“At my last look at FMLS data there were only 20 newly constructed homes listed for sale from $500,000 to $800,000 within the MiltonHigh School District,” said Goldenberg. “Since the beginning of 2011, there were 177 home closings in that school district in the same price range. Clearly there is room for new homes to gain market share in this submarket and we think this is just one of several pockets in Atlanta that share the same dynamics.”
Construction on the first four homes in the division is underway. Two homes are located at The Overlook at Litchfield in Roswell and two homes are located off Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody.
The Signature Collection division will remain deliberately small, with 10-15 semi-custom homes per year. This will allow the builder to give customers plenty of personalized attention.
Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods has appointed Jon Roby to head up the division. Roby, who has more than 40 years of homebuilding experience, has a reputation in the Atlanta area for building the highest quality new homes while providing exceptional customer service. He has served as vice president of construction for national homebuilder Pulte Homes, general manager of regional home builder McCar Homes and as founder and president of his own homebuilding company, Whitehall Homes.
As "A New Builder for a New Time," Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods restores viability to the Atlanta new home neighborhoods that bore the impact of the home market’s recent downturn. The company purchases homesites at today’s pricing and passes along the savings to home buyers by offering homes in excellent locations at new market prices.
