Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Honored with Pacesetter Award as Fifth Fastest Growing Private Company in Atlanta

On April 26, Cobb Galleria Centre played host to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 18th annual celebration of the city’s fastest growing privately owned companies. Before a jam-packed house that included some of Atlanta’s boldest and brightest executives, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods was recognized with a 2013 Pacesetter Award. After hanging out their shingle just three years ago, the Acadia team was humbled by its lofty position at #5 out of 100 Pacesetter recipients for increased revenue of 3,887% from 2010 to 2012. Tim Lee, chairman of Cobb County Board of Commissioners, presented the Pacesetter Award to Gregg Goldenberg, President and CEO of Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods.

Founded on the principles of integrity, quality and an unyielding devotion to customer satisfaction, this Atlanta-based homebuilder and developer is the shared vision of real estate and construction veterans – Gregg Goldenberg, Jon Roby and Thomas Olson. Comprised of six neighborhoods at its inception just three years ago, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods skyrocketed to 18 neighborhoods in 2012 – with more on the way. After celebrating 51 closings on new homes in 2011, Acadia was delighted to triple that number with 153 closings in 2012. In keeping with the growth of the company’s inventory, sales, and reputation, so follows the expansion of the Acadia team. The Atlanta new homebuilder added 36 staff members in 2012, including sales agents, construction supervisors, executives and marketing specialists. In summer 2013, Acadia plans to cut the ribbon on their new offices and design center in Cobb County.

Acadia’s most recent successes are also reflected in the 2012 introductions of the Signature Collection featuring skillfully crafted semi-custom homes priced from the $500,000s to $800,000s in Atlanta’s most distinctive neighborhoods and the Capitol Collection showcasing affordable, quality construction homes priced from the mid $100,000s to the $200,000s in the region’s most sought after communities. Currently building in single family, active adult and townhome communities within Cherokee, Cobb, Dekalb, Forsyth, Fulton and Jackson Counties, thoughtfully-inspired and beautifully realized new homes by Acadia can be found in many of Metro Atlanta’s most appealing towns and cities.

Endeavoring to build a company as distinctive and lasting as the homes it constructs, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods has aligned itself with trusted financial backers who put their faith in the knowledge, ability and reliability of Acadia’s leadership team. Confident that this up-and-coming homebuilder is here to stay, forward-thinking lenders and developers facilitated Acadia’s debut and subsequent growth in the marketplace. Through a bold blend of industry experience and avant-garde vision, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods has carved out a very special niche in the Atlanta market. Goldenberg, Roby, Olson and Acadia’s team of dedicated architectural design, construction, marketing and real estate experts seek to inspire Atlanta families with exceptional homes of unsurpassed quality and value.

For more information about Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods, prospective homebuyers are invited to visit www.acadiahomes.com or schedule a tour of homes in any one of the following Acadia communities: The Preserve at North Valley in Milton; Parkside Village and Wellstone in Cumming; Riverbrooke in Suwanee; McKinley Crossing in Gainesville; Sherwood Park in Smyrna; City Park in Midtown; Bakers Farms and Liberty Crossing in Braselton; Sutherland Corner and Kirkwood Green in Lake Claire; and Eagles Crest, Reece Farms, and Arbor Green in West Cobb.

Top Five Places to Take Your Kids on a Budget

If you are a parent, you know how hard it is to keep little ones entertained through the long summer months. To keep them busy and your bank account full, here is our list of top five places to take the kids this summer on a budget.

1. Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta: This interactive museum keeps kids of all ages busy for hours. They can paint on the painting wall, load balls in a kid-sized crane and put on a raincoat to fish for ducks. During the month of May, visit weekdays from 1-4 p.m. and receive half-off the $12.75 admission.

2. Chattahoochee Nature Center: Located just 15 miles north of Atlanta, the nature reserve allows kids to learn about the ecology and habitat of the Chattahoochee River. Kids will enjoy guided trail hikes, animal encounters and a visit to the fairy village. General admission tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 3-12 and children under 2 are free.

3. Stone Mountain Park: Pack a picnic, and head over to Stone Mountain for a day of outdoor family fun. A $10 one-day parking pass will get you access to public picnic areas, hiking and nature trails, children’s playground, walk-up trail, Quarry Exhibit, the Confederate Hall Historical and Environmental Education Center and the Lasershow.

4. Atlanta Botanical Gardens: Kids will love running and playing in the Children’s Garden. On a warm day, bring their swimsuits to splash in the Sunflower Fountain, weave through the Butterfly Maze and stop in Peter Rabbit’s Garden to see what’s growing this season. You can also walk on the 600 ft. long Kendeda Canopy Walk for an aerial view, and find their favorite fruit or vegetable in the Edible Garden. Tickets are $18.95 for adults, $12.95 for children ages 3-12 and children under 3 are free.

5.  Story Time: In and around Atlanta, many libraries and bookstores host free, 30 minute-1 hour story times for children of all ages. This is a great activity for kids, and will give you some down time too.
